Shaping the future together.

Global success

The basic idea behind the Orff Schulwerk is based on the unity of music, language and movement. It thus ties in with the innate abilities of human beings – regardless of national, social, linguistic and cultural characteristics. With their method, Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman have had a decisive influence on music education in many countries and cultures around the world to this day.

Numerous institutions have been established to cultivate, develop and disseminate the Orff Schulwerk. Over 50 Orff Schulwerk societies in more than 35 countries offer information and practical courses in elementary music and movement education. They support the exchange of information among experts. Some Schulwerk societies also organise courses to train new teachers in their country, who then carry the idea of the Schulwerk to Carl Orff schools, Carl Orff music schools and Carl Orff kindergartens, as well as associated schools, music schools and institutions in various countries.
