View of the construction site – This is what the new museum will look like

For the COMU Carl Orff Museum, the composer's home and studio will be complemented by a new building. This was designed by the Munich-based architectural firm Meck Architekten. The construction company Lutzenberger is carrying out the work and has sent a highly experienced construction crew to Dießen. The sophisticated architecture will be realised using innovative ultra-lightweight concrete, which provides optimal insulation. Solar panels on the museum roof and a heat pump will also ensure sustainability.

The shell of the building has been under construction since summer 2023. All the walls of the new building are now in place, and the particularly impressive special exhibition room has been fitted with its barrel roof. It is already possible to get a first impression of what the building will look like. We will celebrate the topping-out ceremony on Carl Orff's 129th birthday (10 July 1895). We can hardly wait for the building to be completed.
