Carl Orff returns to the Ziegelstadel

In 1954, Carl Orff and his then wife Luise Rinser decided to purchase the property at Ziegelstadel 1 in Dießen am Ammersee. The composer lived and worked here with his fourth wife Liselotte Orff until his death. She ran a hospitable household, and many visitors from that time still fondly remember the wonderful hours they spent at the Orff home.

After Mrs Orff's death, many years of renovation work followed. In recent years, it has rarely been accessible to visitors. Now it is time to wake the building and garden from their slumber and fill the place with new life. Carl Orff and his work are returning to the Ziegelstadel! With the new exhibition dedicated to his life and work, stage productions and Orff Schulwerk, composing and music-making, the Carl Orff Foundation is creating a place of remembrance for the composer. At the COMU Carl Orff Museum, we warmly welcome you in the spirit of Orff's hospitality.
