Shaping the future together.
Diessen am Ammersee is the starting point for an unforgettable day trip. The Goggolori leads families along the music trail – which begins in the centre of Diessen – with fun puzzles and games, taking them to the museum grounds in the Ziegelstadel in no time at all.
Immerse yourself in the world of Carl Orff and let yourself be enchanted by his music. From the COMU, you can catch your first glimpse of Andechs Monastery across the Ammersee. This connection will stay with you throughout the day, but more on that later.
After an exciting morning in the museum, it's back to the steamboat pier in Diessen. The southern tour takes you by steamboat to Herrsching, where you can stroll along the picturesque lake promenade. After a few metres, you will reach the bus stop, from where a bus leaves for Andechs Monastery every 20 minutes. The journey takes only 10 minutes and brings you to the foot of the monastery.
Now the last 260 metres of altitude await before another highlight of the day. Andechs Monastery, a spiritual place with centuries of tradition. Carl Orff's final resting place lies in this memorable place, in the Painful Chapel. In March 1982, he was buried here at his own request, which he explained shortly before his death as follows: ‘People should see where I am at home.’
End the day with a visit to the Andechs monastery restaurant and enjoy a late snack and the famous Andechs beer before taking the bus back to Herrsching.
